Back in Black

More beautiful boots are in! This selection of lower heeled finds will surely seduce you!  This over-the-knee design is marvelous! I own a pair myself and am constantly bombarded with compliments every time I wear them.  The leather is soft and supple and the details add a subtle complexity to the style.
This versatile boot incorporates two trends in one!  Leave as is and wear it over-the-knee, or folded down for an English Prep riding look.
Coveting chains this season? Wear them proudly on you footwear with this basic black pair. Fearlessly flaunt your refined rebel within.

Haute Hippie

A boho chic staple, the maxi dress can be maximized beyond it's low key vibe.  Layered and paired with the right accent pieces you can go from West Coast Western, to Hardware Haute Couture, to Rocker Chick Chic.

Aviators + Denim Jacket + Scarf + J Shoe booties = laid back with western flare.  Jersey Cardigan + studded belt + All Black Flats = simply "studded" and stunning.  Sequined Cardigan + Bold Bangle + Pour La Victoire Booties = Evening Edgy.

All Black Is All About The Flat for Fall

Every closet needs a pair of All Black flats and they have a style for everyone (my mom especially loves them). All Black is an emerging independent brand who utilizes beautiful and unique materials for their versatile designs. They are pleasing to any palette. Add a great metallic with a gold option, add some hardware with a studded option, or add just a touch of femininity with a pleated, bowed option.

What your boots say about you

In InStyle's September issue is a piece about what your choice of footwear says about your personality. They hit on the peep-toe, riding, duck, short, wedge, lace up, and the over-the knee, but not really the masculine, which is a huge trend this fall! Perhaps it's because it could fall into numerous other categories, seeing as how the look incorporates so many of the previously mentioned characteristics.

So, what would a short, lace-up, masculine style say about you? I think it depends on what you wear them with. If you pair them with a flirty and frilly dress, they can say "I'm girly and down to earth", with skinny jeans and a tunic, "I like to add just a dash of edge to my ensemble". Regardless of what you wear them with, you will certainly make a statement. Want to try this style on for size? This Bernardo Desert Boot will can give you the edgy, down to earth look you've been lusting for.

Lower your standards...

Of your heels that is! Lower heels are back! According to this month's issue of Glamour magazine, "fashionistas are falling for chic midheels". I bet you're excited to give your stilettos some time off. Want to try a great low heel basic? Check out these classics with a twist from J Shoes.

Vintage Vibe

Want to give a nod to the sophisticated styles of years past? Vintage and retro accessories are a great way to express your inner Greta Garbo, Grace Kelly, or Katherine Hepburn. Worried about taking a step too far back in time? Don't be, you can channel your favorite classic film star and maintain a modern look at the same time.

Girly, flirty trends are really "in" this Fall. Pair any one of these lower heeled styles with skinny jeans and an uber-feminine blouse, or a slightly longer skirt with a fitted blouse. You're chic, girly, and timeless all in one!

Why a Wedge?

The real question is, why NOT!?! The wedge is a great transition shoe from summer to fall, comfortable enough to wear all day without having to compromise style. These strapped wedges from Jeffery Campbell are cute, playful, and sensible. Wear the T-straps with cropped trousers for a modern yet vintage look, or get creative and wear the Mary Janes with over the knee socks and a skirt. You can't go wrong with either look.

Try this on for size

Mingle some great fall trends together for a fun look! Take a great mini that has some movement, add a ruffled plaid blouse, cover it with a chic wool blazer, and punctuate the look with a pair of mid booties, like these from J Shoes, and slouch a pair of trouser socks right above the top of the boot.

PEEP!!! Sorry couldn't help it, I love a good peep toe. Both of these can take you from work to happy hour! Who says you have to compromise your sense of style in your work wardrobe?

A feminine peep toe heel mary-jane is a rich reddish brown leather. Made in Brazil, these shoes will look so cute with a pencil skirt or a flirty dress.

This amazingly well crafted peep-toe t-strap is from The Boot Company by Timberland. This boutique-only line by the infamous boot maker is producing classic beauties that you will want to wear every day.

Trend Watch Fall 2010

On the hunt for the latest trends in fall footwear? Be on the lookout for the following styles in order to keep your wardrobe up to date!

Over The Knee boots: the OTK look will give you drama without the catfight. Go for a flat boot with a skinny cord during the day, or a heeled version with a mini for a night out on the town.

Clogs: Boho chic is back, give your outfit a modern yet retro vibe, a great style+comfort combo.

Oxfords: Preppy is in, so is menswear inspired, many of these looks are adding feminine touches, like lace, so you really can have the best of both worlds.

Loafers: This classic is showing up all over runways this fall, but you might notice something different. Designers are upgrading this polished look with thicker heels, bright colors, and unique details.

Shortie Boots and Shooties: Chunky heels, fold over tops, embellished stilettos, cut outs, buckles, buttons, studs, with infinite options you can't go wrong pairing the shortie boot and/or shootie with tights and a skirt, leggings and a chunky sweater (my fave for fall!) or with a great pair of skinny jeans!

Stilettos: This sexy stunner is here to stay, but designers are constantly giving new life to the style that oozes sex appeal, which lets us breath new life into our LBDs! This layered lace look from Pour La Victoire adds a rich, lady-like, textural elegance that will make your feet the center of attention.
