Jewely Jade

I can't avoid it any longer, as much as I would love to extend the summer season, fall fashion in making its presence known.  Your first glimpse? Rich jade.  According to InStyle,
"Vibrant and fresh, this color makes the perfect transition between spring's flora-inspired pastels and fall's more opulent, jewel-like shades".

A color like this looks fab on every skin tone, so if you're looking to add color this is a go to shade.  It is easily paired with cool neutrals like navy and chalk, eggplant compliments it as well.  For an edgier match "clash" it with a blue-green teal.

Fashion Rx: Your weekly dose of what to wear!

I'm very excited to start showing off our new fall collection, but I've got one more transition look to take you from summer to fall in a breeze.  Speaking of breeze, wouldn't you want to make your breezy bohemian chic blouse last another season? Here's how.

The Cure: Boho bonus

Blouses like these are perfect for summer with their light airy flow, but add a few layers and it's fit for fall! For now topping those high-waisted cutoffs and adding a great pair of sandals is perfect for your favorite late summer music fest, but if you're thinking about ahead, layering can probably make a lot of your pieces last longer.  In this case grab a pair of black leggings and your favorite Frye's and you have extended the life of your wardrobe!

I know you are probably wondering where are all the fall shoes, but give me this last full week of July to still enjoy summer, I promise I won't disappoint.  With fall in mind you might be wondering what in your summer shoe collection can transition with ease.  An any season must have is a great flat and Lanvin is certainly a go to choice. This contrast, capped toe flat is a great neutral for summer and fall with just a pop of color. Of course pop goes your wallet with a $550 sticker price.
Lanvin
So of course my alternative for you is a contrast, capped toe flat from Libby Edelman. Same neutral, same pop of color, plus a bonus chain accent. These will only run you $74, except that are summer sale is going strong so knock off 50% and you have a great transition shoe!

NeOn

Summer sales are in full force as Fall fashion starts to make its debut in a store near you, but I'm not ready to say goodbye to Summer styles just yet, so let's go out with a bang.  Have you tried NEON this season?

I realize what you might be thinking, didn't neon die with the 80s, yes it certainly did, but there is a method to my madness, neon can be modern!  Just a hint of these bright hues can highlight your fashion savvy and is a great way to celebrate the Summer season. There bold and brights and the perfect compliment to navy and neutrals. If you're hesitant, choose a piece that has a neon accent like and orange cuff, or a pink belt. Whether big or small, any bit of neon is sure to make an impact!

Sheer Madness

Showing some skin is one of the perks of spring/summer fashion, but have you ever thought of showing skin while remaining covered up? According to InStyle, this trend is quite simple to take on by following a few key rules.

The airy fabrics should have some kind of "built in coverage" like pockets or strategically placed panels, if not consider layers.  Blouses that are sheer require opaque underpinnings, something must be left to the imagination. Adding bold jewelry and statement sandals can keep the look from looking too "boudoirish".  Finally sheer pieces are great as coverups for the beach, the transparency of the fabric still leaves a little something to the imagination.

Fashion Rx: Your weekly dose of what to wear!

Have you been feeling the heat lately? Need something to help lighten things up?  There is no better cure for feeling the pressure (and the temperatures) than a pretty outfit that makes your feel good!

The Cure: Lighten Up

A light and airy dress is a great way to beat the heat. Choose a cool color like this light blue to help soothe your mood and help relieve stress. Stick with a simple silhouette and amp it up with accessories that will give the look something special.  Finally give your feet a break from a pump and select a flat sandal, great for comfort and cooling your heels!

SALE!!!

Seafoam Summer

Last Friday I mentioned seafoam green as a current trend and realized I needed to spend a little more time exploring this entrancing hue.  According to InStyle it's, "Delicate without being overly feminine, it's an alternative to those omnipresent jewel tones." Without a doubt it's sweet and soft, but with the right silhouette it can still be saucy.

Not surprisingly, this color is super wearable, it pairs well with blues, corals, and neutrals.  Add bold accessories for contrast or keep your look soft and subtle.

Fashion Rx: Your weekly dose of what to wear!

Are you a trend-a-holic? Do you get excited each new season to see just what new and interesting things are going to hit the runway? Do you try to wear more than one trend at once?  Some may say to stick to one trend at a time, but if you are so enamored with them you can't help yourself there is a way to wear multiple trends at the same time.

The Cure: All-in-one

This look combines girly bows, animal print, and sea-foam green, sounds like a lot is going on, but there is a key way to balance it all.  To start, choose one trend to really standout, in this case, the animal print, then use the other trends in your accessories to give depth to the outfit.  Sea-foam green in a bauble necklace and bow adorned neutral flats offer additional trend without additional chaos.  Remember you want people to see you, not just your outfit.

Fantasy Fashion Becomes Reality

Happy Fourth of July everyone!  While planning your perfect patriotic ensemble you might be wondering what the perfect pair of shoes would be.  You know me and that I'm a less is more kind of girl, so if you're already donning red, white, and blue I would suggest a neutral shoe.  Chloe's leather  v-strap sandal with open toe and closed back is the necessary neutral to balance your red, white, and blues, but the $775 price tag may make balancing your checkbook a challenge.
Chloe, $775

Which is why I'm strongly suggesting Sam Edelman's Karli wedge.  This semi-v-strap wedge has adjustable buckle accents, open back, and perforated leather to keep your feet cool and comfy this 4th of July! Best of all they're only $148 and if you're lucky you might just find them on sale!

Broaching on Baroque

While scouring my vast collection of fashion magazines I came across a story that I absolutely must share.  Elleuk.com previously posted the following for Spring/Summer trends and I couldn't keep it to myself, so without further ado...

"Once upon a time a baroque print was solely synonymous with Versace, but its decadence has filtered into spring summer 12’s trend bill. The print plays out in a number of guises with varying degrees of intensity. For the bold, flashy chain prints on leopard spots intertwine with ropes on bomber jackets, elsewhere strikes of swirling black fauna adorn pencil skirts, while baroque tops with softer, ornate rococo swirls flow gently across jersey. The baroque trend isn’t restricted to clothing; with shoes and accessories getting in on the act too and ingenious devore on shoes make for a pretty introduction to the print."
