Black and Blue

How many times have you been warned against wearing black and blue together? Major fashion faux pas right?  Well this year designers from Carolina Herrara to Marc Jacobs decided to challenge that notion.

This is apparently the "it" color combo of the season.  Seen used together in stripes and patterns.  Try color-blocking with the two shades, or create an entirely new work uniform by layering the two together.  Black layered under navy is really a striking combination.

Fall Shoe Trends

With Fall fashion creeping its way into stores and boutiques you will want to keep you eyes peeled for the plethora of shoe trends to follow!  Of course you can always swing by our store and find just what you need!

Color blocking, patterns, and colorful reptile will give you a walk on the wild side kind of look.  The shoe boot, or shootie as I like to call it combines a heel and boot look below the ankle.  T-straps, and ankle straps are making a comeback, as is the menswear trend, which has always been popular but a little bit of a sleeper in years past.  Finally the ever classic pointy toe, one of the best leg lengtheners when combined with a great heel! Find just the right fit for your look!

Fantasy Fashion Becomes Reality

It's sandal season and if you're building your summer white wardrobe you will want to add the perfect little seasonal sandal to the mix.  Consider for yourself the Christian Louboutin Flanana, this t-strap, thong sandal with espadrille bottom is simple, smart, and perfectly paired with anything summery. While it may be smart in a stylish way it certainly won't be your wisest purchase as they retail for $450.
Christian Louboutin, $450
Of course you can always opt for the ever popular Sam Edelman Gigi.  Same t-strap, throng design, with a snake embossed upper instead of espadrille. And talk about smart, these will only run you $62 and are also available in rosegold and black snake skin! I mean really could it get any better?!?

Fantasy Fashion Becomes Reality

Somewhere in a galaxy far, far away I am parading around in glorious Lanvin t-strap sandals and basking in rays of sunshine all while  doing some afternoon shopping.  In a galaxy far, far away perhaps I can actually afford the pair of Lanvin t-strap sandals, because in this universe if I owned them, they would be displayed on a shelf and used for special occasions only.  Why do such beautiful shoes have to cost so much?!?
Lanvin, $955
Well in this universe I might choose to go with one of yet another great pair of Jeffrey Campbells to satiate my appetite for designer shoes.  This t-strap has a thicker heel, a platform, and is embellished with tassels giving it a slightly more casual and versatile look.  These I can dress up or down unlike those shoes on that other planet.  I've fallen for these Jeffrey Campbells so hard I don't even remember the "what's his name" t-strap from before.  Great color, great style, great price, what more could a girl ask for?!?

Fashion Rx: Your weekly dose of what to wear!

Heading home for the holidays? Maybe a visit to meet the parents? You want to dress to impress but want a look that is appropriate and won't cause daytime drama. My plan of attack, less is more, simple shapes and silhouettes will come off as sophisticated and put together.  Use your accessories to showcase your personality, just remember a little goes a long way.

The Cure: Parents love me!

Start with a simple belted shirt dress, flattering for all body types.  Grab a knit cardigan for warmth, something with a little volume is totally acceptable.  Add a pop of color with your handbag, keep your jewelry simple, and then allow your shoes to be your conversation starter, so long as you don't go overboard, you're sure to make a splash of an impression.

Side effects: Be mindful of the shoes you choose, make sure they highlight the best parts of your personality, those sexy stilettos you wore out the night before may be a bit much at first. Remember, you only get one chance to make a first impression.

Fantasy Fashion Becomes Reality

Looking for the perfect party shoe, the one that will leave them speechless and standing with applause as you walk through the door?  Look no further, Christian Louboutin has the answer for you!   The satin platform peep toe with crystalized butterfly strass vamp is quite possibly the "it" shoe for any LBD. For only $1995 you can make this dream, reality. Simply stunning right, the star of the show?!?
Christian Louboutin, Margi Diams Strass, $1995
If your willing to compromise, as I usually am, I have an understudy of a shoe that will suit those LBDs and give a stellar performance.  This sparkly suede heel t-strap from Jeffrey Campbell emulates all of the same qualities as the Louboutin without being scene stealing.  Spend $155 and not only do you get a fabulous party shoe, but you get to be the star of the show!

Why a Wedge?

The real question is, why NOT!?! The wedge is a great transition shoe from summer to fall, comfortable enough to wear all day without having to compromise style. These strapped wedges from Jeffery Campbell are cute, playful, and sensible. Wear the T-straps with cropped trousers for a modern yet vintage look, or get creative and wear the Mary Janes with over the knee socks and a skirt. You can't go wrong with either look.

If I hear one more peep...

PEEP!!! Sorry couldn't help it, I love a good peep toe. Both of these can take you from work to happy hour! Who says you have to compromise your sense of style in your work wardrobe?

A feminine peep toe heel mary-jane is a rich reddish brown leather. Made in Brazil, these shoes will look so cute with a pencil skirt or a flirty dress.

This amazingly well crafted peep-toe t-strap is from The Boot Company by Timberland. This boutique-only line by the infamous boot maker is producing classic beauties that you will want to wear every day.
