Burgundy...the new Black

Well if you haven't heard it already, this season burgundy/oxblood is the new black!  This deep, rich, red hue took the runways by storm with designers from Jason Wu, to Tory Burch embracing the impact of this shade! According to Elle magazine,
"And it's official: The color of the season is seductive oxblood. More cerebrally sensual than its tarty firetruck-red cousin, the muddied burgundy works as a statement accessory or wear-everywhere pieces."

Wear a little, wear a lot, pair it with black or other neutrals, heck it's the new neutral itself! No matter how you do to it adding this riff of red to your wardrobe this season is a fashion

Fantasy Fashion Becomes Reality

Have you been aching for that perfect ankle bootie? Well this suede option from Vivienne Westwood is sure to win you over.  With a somewhat scalloped opening, strap around the back, and silver tone heart shaped buckle, your own heart will be singing with glee for this fabulously feminine footwear. But, retailing for $650 may change your heart's tune.

Would your heart sing if I told you I had a less feminine looking, but equally stylish and sassy pair of ankle booties? I know mine would! Sam Edelman's Loni is a great compromise with it's suede upper, strap around the back, and buckle accent at the heel strap.  While the heel may be heftier, stacked heels have been favored this fall! At just $159 your heart won't just be singing but leaping for joy!

Fantasy Fashion Becomes Reality

Who doesn't love a bootie with a bow?!? Something that is certainly a staple during the holiday season has to be the Valentino pearl-trim suede bootie.  The classic suede bootie is accented with cultured freshwater pearls which may come off as opulent but doesn't look over the top.  What puts this shoe over the edge has to be the $895 price tag.
Valentino, $895

While this bootie may not have fresh water pearl trim, it does have a cute bow on the back that maintains your lady like look and adds a bit of fun.  The "Nalini" from Libby Edelman is a blue suede bootie, complete with bow accent and is perfect for adding that pop of color to your holiday ensemble.  Best of all, no need to worry about going over the edge, this bootie is priced at just $94 ($65 if you catch it while it's on sale!)

Fashion Rx: Your weekly dose of what to wear!

With Thanksgiving less than a week away you are probably pondering what to wear to the most festive dinner party of the year. While wanting to dress to impress you also want to be comfortable enough to maybe have that second piece of pie at the end of the night. So what to wear?

The Cure: Thanksgiving Trend-setting

Now normally I would probably suggest a shift dress, something cute and stylish but also flattering for the expectant expanding waistline, but this year I'm thinking of taking a risk. How luxe are these velvet leggings ?!? They are the perfect substitute for the shift. Pair them with an embellished silk blouse and pretty pumps for a flawlessly festive look.

Fashion Rx: Your weekly dose of what to wear!

Are you debating whether or not to move your dresses out of current rotation now that the weather is waning?  Do not, I repeat, do not move those dresses anywhere, there is no reason you can't stretch them into another season.  Whether maxi or mini there is always an outfit to originate!

The Cure: Bring on Boho!

This look takes a printed maxi dress and layers with a faux fur vest while belting underneath to define the waistline.  Simple accessories like a pendant necklace or bangle give it a little bit of sparkle.  Break out the booties to keep your feet feeling fashionable.  If it's too chilly to brave a bare leg you can always add a favorite pair or tights!  Winter, spring, summer, or fall you can always pull off a dress, accessories and all!

Fantasy Fashion Becomes Reality

I have to say I really do envy a woman who makes jeans and a tank top look like so much more than jeans and a tank top!  Jennifer Aniston has always made a "less is more" approach to fashion so trendy.  Here she is with boyfriend jeans, a white, tank, messenger bag and cute little lace up booties with socks that are so on trend.  Why am I going on and on about this look? Well once again I have spotted a celeb sporting a shoe that looks oh so familiar.

While I don't know the exact line Jen is wearing, I do know that you too can have this look if you stop in and purchase the "Water Row" bootie from Indigo by Clarks!  A classic shoe with a solid heel and double eyelet laces is perfect for throwing on with just about anything, case in point, see above!  Dress it up or down, but don't dress without it!

Fashion Rx: Your weekly dose of what to wear!

Cooler temps are creeping closer and your autumn apparel is arriving!  While fall fashion is easily embraced outside the office is it possible to warm your workspace with fall fashion flavor?  You bet, let me show you how to spice things up!

The Cure: Office Chic

One of falls hottest trends is the midi length skirt, which is totally appropriate for the work place.  Find a pattern that is pleasing and maybe a little provocative, spicing it up with the wonderfully warm shades of fall.  Go neutral with your top, accentuate your waist with a belt, and instead of sexy stilettos, choose a more appropriate oxford style bootie. Work your cubicle as if it were a runway! You are definitely dressed to impress!

Caution: Runway walks in the office may lead to unwanted distractions and side effects.

Fantasy Fashion Becomes Reality

I spy with my little eye a new shoe trend popping up in Hollywood!!! Gracing the feet of stars like Katie Holmes, Selena Gomez, and Kate Bosworth is the suede bootie, a fall shoe they are embracing now!  They've dressed them up and dressed them down pairing them with cocktail dresses and shorts.  Isn't it great to see this fall staple make an early appearance?!?

Now while I don't know the exact lines these starlettes are sporting I do know that we carry a shoe that looks awfully similar if not exactly like what these gals are wearing.  Say hello to Sam Edelman's "Petty" a short suede boot taking luxe to new heights.  The short heel and slight asymmetrical styling give this shoe sophistication that can be added to any ensemble.  The best part is you don't need a Hollywood salary to have Hollywood style!

Modern Boho

I absolutely love the laid back yet still put together look of Modern Boho style. Nicole Richie pulls it off effortlessly by incorporating dressy fabrics with distinctive prints and cuts that are both loose and fitted. She tops it off with unique accessories that make the look all her own.

You too can steal this style by following a few simple rules. Balance fuller tops with formfitting pants or leggings. Embrace prints, try sticking to a palette of earth-tones and neutrals with a few punches of color thrown in here or there. There are no rules when it comes to shoes, be it boots and 3 inch heels, just make sure everything flows together.
